STS Task Force Public Information Meeting Wednesday, December 4 at 7 p.m. Southbury Town Hall, Room 205 501 Main Street South, Southbury, CT
A review of a study made by Gov. Dannel Malloy’s STS Task Force on the land and buildings of the Southbury Training School campus will be presented to the Southbury public at the Southbury Town Hall in Room 205 on December 4 at 7 p.m.
The meeting provides an opportunity for Southbury residents to provide input regarding future uses for the STS campus.
“I think this is an important opportunity for the people of Southbury to learn more about the assets at the Training School core campus as well as an opportunity to share their ideas about the future reuse of the property,” said Southbury First Selectman Ed Edelson. “I encourage everyone to attend.”
The Home and School Association board agrees. Several of us will be attending this meeting to learn, to listen and to mingle with the Southbury community. We hope many of our local members will be able to join us.
We believe this meeting provides a unique opportunity for us to have positive, informal conversations with members of the community about STS as a state-of-the-art premier long-term care facility that could potentially help solve the I/DD waiting list crisis in Connecticut.
Please keep in mind that this meeting is not about closing the Southbury Training School. The focus of the task force is only on how the STS campus can best serve the residents of Southbury in the future. Our presence there can raise awareness about how STS serves the community now, and how STS can continue to be an asset to the community for many more years to come.
We hope you will be able to attend this very important meeting. If you have any questions please call us at 855-200-0490; or e-mail us at [email protected]
