An Act Concerning the Provision of Services to Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities Good News! Public Health Committee Votes 25-1 in favor of HB 5534 This is just the first of several hurdles to face before a final vote on this bill.
This bill would:
:: Require DDS to develop a plan with stakeholders to provide needed services to all eligible individuals by July 1, 2015.
:: Require DDS to provide community-based residential placements, respite services, emergency care, day program services, vocational services, and in-home supports to all eligible individuals and families who need these services by July 1, 2016.
:: Ensure that funding for expansion of services is not achieved through cutting other DDS services or cutting workers’ wages and benefits.
